North Wales have appointed Kenny Baker as their captain for the 2019, with Karl Ashall as his vice-captain.

Baker stepped up from the amateur game to sign for the Crusaders back in 2016 and has impressed ever since. The forward has scored 23 tries in 62 appearances for North Wales to date.

Meanwhile, Ashall returned to the Crusaders last season for his second spell at the club and boasts a wealth of experience at League 1 level.

On appointing the duo as captains, North Wales coach Anthony Murray said: “I’m really pleased with my leadership team for the 2019 season.

“We brought Kenny in a couple of years ago and he’s been fantastic. He’s showed everybody what he’s capable of.

“Karl’s a great professional and a real leader so he’ll work well alongside Kenny.

“We’ve also got Stephen Wild to call on when he plays. He’s played at the highest level for a long time and is a fantastic leader.”
