North Queensland Cowboys have signed Nene Macdonald on a three-year deal from St George Illawarra Dragons.

The Papua New Guinea winger our centre has scored 31 tries in 91 games at the Roosters, Gold Coast Titans and Dragons.

Macdonald has played nine Tests for the Kumuls, scoring five tries.

Cowboys coach Paul Green said: “He’s a North Queensland kid and we like North Queenslanders representing this region.

“Nene is going to offer plenty of depth to our backline and had a fantastic year for the Dragons.

“I know him on a personal level after coaching him in the Under-20s at the Roosters and am confident he will be a good cultural fit for our club as well.”

The Dragons have also signed Jonus Pearson, Mikaele Ravalawa and Jason Saab for 2019.
