The Rugby Football League have found Terry Newton guilty of striking and handed the Bradford hooker a two game ban.

The Great Britain international, 28, was also handed a fine of £500 at the hearing in Leeds on Tuesday.

There had been calls for a lengthy ban after his late tackle on Jon Wilkin in the Saints-Bradford match at the weekend.

The ex-Wigan player was banned for 11 matches of last season for dangerous tackles, also against Saints.

The hearing cleared Jamahl Lolesi  of striking Rob Burrow in the Leeds-Huddersfield match on Sunday.

Wakefield prop Danny Sculthorpe, put on report in the Wildcats game at Hull, has also been told he faces no further action.
