Newcastle have signed forward Samy Kibula on a season-long loan from Warrington for 2020.

The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Wigan, making his first team debut in 2018 before joining Warrington ahead of the 2020 season, where he has since played two first team games.

Kibula said: “Thunder have some exciting aims and after speaking to the coaches, it’s something I want to be a part of.

“As a player, I like to both carry and tackle hard as well as expressing myself with the ball. I’ve learnt a lot from some great players so far, but now I want to play regular minutes.

“I’ve got good experience of Championship rugby and I hope that can be useful to the club and that we can both grow and do the best we can.”

Thunder director of rugby Denis Betts said: “Samy is a young and enthusiastic player with Super League and Championship experience and a real desire to perform.

“He is very quick for such a big man and has great hands and skills. He wants to be a Super League player and we want him to perform to that level so that we can both achieve our goals and develop together.”
