Newcastle promote two players to first-team
Newcastle have promoted academy stars Ollie Gowing and Sean Croston to the first-team.
Hooker Gowing has already featured for the Thunder first-team, having made four appearances since making his debut against West Wales at the end of the 2018 season.
He is eligible to play for the USA on the international stage, having grown up on the other side of the pond, with wrestling and state-level baseball commanding his attention.
Croston came through the systems at Wigan and St Helens before moving to the North East for his University studies.
The centre has represented England Youth and England Students and has also won the BUCS title with Northumbria University.
