Newcastle promote three academy stars to first-team

Newcastle have promoted Under-19s players Rory Nettleton, Tyler Walton and Kieran Hudson to the club’s first-team.

Nettleton captained Thunder’s Under-19s through the 2019 campaign and already made is first-team debut in last season’s win over West Wales.

Walton hails from Howden in North Tyneside and has been playing at Under-19s level a year young this season. The age-grade structures for 2020 have afforded Walton the chance to take another step towards his ongoing development.

Hudson, 19, is the latest player to grade from Thunder’s academy. He was formerly an academy goalkeeper at Sunderland AFC but was released when he was 15. Hudson made his first-team bow for Newcastle against Hemel in 2018.
