New Zealand Warriors have signed Daniel Alvaro and George Jennings on loan from Parramatta for the next four weeks, while Jack Hetherington has extended his loan period with the club.

Prop Alvaro and winger Jennings will train with the Warriors for the first time on Monday, while prop Hetherington has extended his loan with the Warriors from Penrith for another four weeks.

Warriors recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan said: “We’re hugely appreciative of the support from Brad Arthur (Parramatta coach) and the Eels as well as the NRL for the work they’ve done in making this happen.

“We realise all clubs are under pressure through injuries, so this is a fantastic gesture from the Eels to help us at a time when we’re certainly thin on players.

“We’re extremely grateful to Matt Cameron (Penrith general manager) and Ivan Cleary (Penrith coach) at the Panthers as well as the NRL for making it possible for Jack to stay on for a further four weeks.

“It’s a huge help to us at a time when we’re short on players, especially middle forwards.

“Jack fitted in really easily the moment he came into camp and he has made a terrific contribution on the field.”
