Wakefield will field seven of their new signings in their Boxing Day friendly clash with Leeds at Headingley.

Winger Kevin Penny, signed from Warrington, and Chris Dean will partner each other in the outside backs, with Tommy Lee and Paul Johnson named in the front row.

Former Wigan duo Stuart Howarth and Josh Veivers in the squad, with Howarth named in the back row and Veivers joining fellow new signing Motu Tony on the bench.

John Kear said, “The traditional Boxing Day fixture against Leeds Rhinos is always a highlight of the festive season.”

“The game is competitive every year and it is a vital part of our pre season preparations.”

Michael Korkidas will complete the front row with Dean and Millard in the centre. Young Matthew Wildie will play at half-back alongside Ben Jeffries, his second first team appearance after his debut against Huddersfield Giants last season. Kevin Henderson and Dale Ferguson are named in the squad and are both returning from Scotland duties.
