New Wigan halfback Cade Cust has been named as the early favourite to win the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel award.

Cust arrived at the club from NRL side Manly, and has been listed as 8/1 on with Sky Bet to win the award. Last year’s winner Sam Tomkins is listed at 33/1, alongside Blake Austin, Jai Field, Jake Trueman, Jordan Abdull, Josh Reynolds, Luke Gale, Marc Sneyd, Matty Ashton, Morgan Knowles and Will Pryce.

New Catalans halfback Mitchell Pearce is second on the list at 12/1. Pearce came in to replace the outgoing James Maloney, who will play for Leizignan in the French Elite League.

Meanwhile, at 16/1, you can find Bevan French, Lachlan Coote, Jake Connor, Jack Welsby and Aidan Sezer. Warrington half George Williams is also available at 20/1.

There are also four players available at 25/1. Arthur Mourgue, Brodie Croft, Lewis Dodd, and 2020 winner Paul McShane are all available at that price. Saints halfback Jonny Lomax is also listed at 28/1.
