New Wales kit unveiled

Wales have unveiled their new home kit for the Rugby League World Cup.

The new design includes the famous Welsh dragon incorporated into the body of the red shirt, and is produced by Raging Bull.

Wales Rugby League Chief Operating Officer Chris Thair said: “We are really pleased with the new design as it symbolizes Wales and our sport. You have the traditional three feathers and red print you would expect of any Welsh rugby jersey however it is joined by an exciting dragon design which wraps around the body of the shirt.

“When we were in the research phase of the design we had great feedback from retailers in Cardiff about the dragon who said this would be very appealing to tourists and casual trade, as well as supporters, so the unique design will help to boost sales. I can’t wait to see thousands of fans wearing the kit in the stands throughout the World Cup.”

Wales take on Italy at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday October 26, as part of an opening ceremony and double header day, which also sees England take on Australia in Cardiff.
