New Wakefield signing Brad Walker loaned out to Newcastle

Wakefield’s new recruit Brad Walker will spend the 2020 season on loan at League 1 side Newcastle.

The 21-year-old loose forward has joined Trinity on a two-year deal after being granted a release from his contract with now part-time club Widnes.

Walker will spend 2020 with Thunder, where he will link up will old Widnes coach Denis Betts, who is now director of rugby at Newcastle.

Thunder coach Simon Finnigan said: “I am pleased to have Brad join us on loan.

“He is someone who will certainly add to our style of play and he will fit in with our group very well.

“I would also like to thank Wakefield for making this loan possible, I’m sure it will benefit both clubs.“
