Harlequins Rugby League has today secured the services of one new player and is poised to announce another coaching appointment ahead of Saturday's game against Hull FC.

Salford winger Anthony Stewart has this week arrived at Quins RL and has been named in Brian McDermott's 20-man squad for Saturday.

Signed initially on loan from St Helens in 2004 for a season, Karl Harrison made Anthony a permanent fixture at Salford after Super League IX. Stewart made his first team debut for St Helens against Paris St German in 1997.

Harlequins RL Head Coach, Brian McDermott commented: He's a very useful player and his style of play will fit nicely here. On top of that he's a good bloke and that's very important."

With any new staff or players it's vitally important that they have the right personal attributes and Anthony has."

Stewart joins fellow newcomer Paul Noone who arrived at Quins from Warrington on Monday. Both players are not on loan but have been transferred to the London club.

Missing from last week's team is Joe Mbu (dislocated shoulder) and Zeb Luisi (broken hand) while McDermott also adds Michael Worrincy, Tim Hartley and Jon Wells to the squad.

In other news Harlequins RL will host a special Fans' Forum before the game at 1.30pm where Chairman, Ian Lenagan will be on hand to answer questions. Saturday is 12 months to the day that Ian Lenagan became Chairman of the London club.

Quins RL will also be hosting a special event pre-match for invited guests who have been nominated for Volunteer of the Year Awards. The three categories include: Young Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Rugby League Teacher of the Year.
