New Dragons deal for Fakir

Jamal Fakir has signed a new one-year contract with Catalan, which will keep him with the Dragons until the end of the 2014 season.

Fakir, 31, is in his tenth year with the club, and he will also have an option for the 2015 season within his new deal.

The French international prop had this to say: “I’m really happy to extend my contract with the Catalans Dragons.

“I arrived at the club in 2003 and I’m really proud to celebrate my 10 years here.

“My motivation is entire and I really want to share my experience with the young players who are coming through.”

Fakir, who celebrated his 150th Dragons appearance this season, made a total of 22 appearances in 2013, scoring 2 tries in the process.
