New deal for Monaghan

Joel Monaghan has signed a contract extension with Warrington, according to captain Adrian Morley.

Monaghan, 31, joined his brother Michael at the Wolves in 2011 and he has been a key player in Tony Smith’s side ever since.

England prop Morley spoke about the winger during Monday’s Super League Show on BBC1, and he revealed that the former Australian international has signed a new deal at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Salford-bound Morley also gave an injury update, hinting that Richie Myler could be out for the rest of the season due to his knee ligament problem.

In more positive news he said that although this Thursday’s clash with Widnes is probably too soon, Lee Briers, Ryan Atkins and himself should be back in time for the trip to St Helens on August 30.
