Castleford have given former Hull prop Liam Higgins a new one-year deal at The Jungle.
Higgins, 22, will stay for a fourth season in 2010 after becoming a regular under Terry Matterson.
He said: “It’s good to have got things sorted out with my contract and I’m looking forward to another season with the Tigers.
“After winning promotion from the National League in my first year we have made progress and this year we have taken a big step forward and we’ll all be disappointed if we don’t make the play offs.
“And with the squad being more settled year on year, I can’t see any reason why we can’t go even better in 2010.”
Matterson, who took over at Castleford in 2006, said: “Liam is another popular member of the squad and I am pleased to have him on board again for next season.
“He is the perfect age for a prop, at his age complimenting both the senior members of the squad and the youngsters and I’m looking forward to seeing Liam improve still further.”
