New Bulls contract for Manuokafoa

Bradford prop Manase Manuokafoa has signed a new two year contract that will keep him at the Provident Stadium until the end of 2015.

Manuokafoa, 28, arrived last season on a one-year contract and extended that with a two-year deal in late 2012, but that included a clause allowing him to leave at the end of this season should he so wish.

The Bulls have moved to secure his services on a longer contract, something the Tongan international is delighted about.

He said, “I want to be a part of the Bulls moving forward under Franny and that’s why I’ve signed for another two years.

“There are a lot of very good home grown players at the club and it’s up to the senior players such as myself to help them come through.

“I’m just very happy to extend my stay at Bradford. My wife, my son and I love it here. We love the club and are very settled in the area.”

Bulls coach Francis Cummins said:

“You need a strong pack to take you forward and to bring in other people such as Garreth (Carvell) is great, but Nas is very important for us too.

“He’s improved again this year despite the setback of breaking his thumb.

“He had a good off-season and I reckon he’s going to be even better next year too.”
