Nelmes is Oldham’s first new face

Halifax prop Luke Nelmes is the first new addition to the Oldham squad for 2018.

Nelmes, 24, has penned a one-year deal with the Roughyeds to help them bounce back to the Championship at the first attempt.

He said: “Oldham fancied giving me a chance. I liked that. I didn’t play as much as I would have liked to last season, to be honest, but it’s my turn now and it would be nice for Roughyeds to kick-start my career.

“I hope to get a lot more games under my belt and help to get Oldham back to the Championship.”
