PREMIER DIVISION

WATH BROW HORNETS moved to the top of the table following a comfortable 50-6 win at EAST HULL.

Prop James Dixon led from the front as he claimed a brace, and he was joined on the Hornets score sheet by Fran King, Karl Dixon, Richard Huby, Ryan Doran, Matthew Huby, Jamie Martin and Ben Agnew. Five goals from Scott Pink meant the Cumbrians passed the half-century mark.

Easts only reply came from a 12th minute effort from scrum-half Matthew Spenceley which was improved by Chris Spenceley.

EGREMONT RANGERS picked up their second win of the season courtesy of a 30-16 win over HUNSLET WARRIORS.

Tries to Ryan Barnes and Ben Walker eased them into an 8-0 half-time lead, and the win was secured thanks to second half tries from Jack Stainton, Matthew Henson, Keiran Glenn and Matthew Bewsher – who also landed three goals.

The Warriors replied with two tries in the final quarter from Lloyd Templeton and James Baker, with Templeton adding a conversion.

WIGAN ST PATRICKS crossed for ten tries to power past HULL DOCKERS 52-0.

Thomas Woodcock and Anthony Griffiths both scored twice, whilst Ryan Smith, Jonathan Brown, Nicky Murphy, Dean Hatton, Philip Mitchell and Lyndon Robertson completed the rout.

Hatton (2) and Brad Smith (4) completed the scoring with the goals.

LEIGH MINERS RANGERS sent EAST LEEDS spinning to their first defeat with a 32-8 win.

Easts were limited to second half touchdowns from Jason Priestley and Dale Pattison which was never going to be enough to halt a Miners side that roared into a 26-0 half-time lead.

Full-back Jonny Youds enjoyed a great afternoon with a try and four goals, with the other four-pointers coming via Adam Thomason, Sean McDonald (2), Scott O’Brien and Daniel Jackson.

A great defensive effort helped SIDDAL see off SKIRLAUGH 22-4.

Second-rower Lee Nobbs crossed for the visitors only points, whilst tries from Hamish Barnes and Shaun Garrod – plus the first of Gareth Blackburn’s four goals – meant the home side led 10-4 at the interval.

The Halifax side then made the game safe with second half efforts from Iain Davies and James Chapman.

LOCK LANE returned to Castleford with the points after a 27-12 victory at THATTO HEATH CRUSADERS.

Five goals and a field-goal from scrum-half Danny Rowse played a crucial part in the win as Michael Hayward, Tom Wood (2) and Craig Duncan crossed the whitewash.

All Thatto’s points came in the second period as Shaun Quinn converted tries from Adam Walsh and David Sutton.

WIGAN ST JUDES picked up their second win thanks to a 28-18 home success over WEST HULL.

A 16-point haul from Scott Robinson – two tries and four goals – played a huge part in St Judes win, as Stephen King, David Carney and Thomas Parkinson all touched down.

Ian Kerman converted second half tries from Jack Lazenby, Thomas Blakey and Lewis Brown but it wasn’t enough to stop Wests slipping to their first loss of the campaign.

DIVISION ONE

A late Danny Flowers penalty helped SHAW CROSS SHARKS edge past MILLOM 10-8.

Jack Gledhill and Ben Spaven both crossed inside the first 30 minutes to give the Sharks the perfect start, however, they couldn’t relax as the Cumbrian-based visitors replied through Jordan Moyes and Daniel White.

OULTON RAIDERS opened up a three point lead at the top of Division One following a thrilling 24-22 win at DEWSBURY CELTIC.

Danny Stanley (2), Chris Hope, Dominic Flanagan and Andrew Tillett provided the Raiders tries as Jamie Benn chipped in with two goals.

Celtic – who were 18-16 behind at half-time – had try scorers in Adam Egan, Joshua Brooke, Thomas Norris and Scott Green. Pat Foulstone landed three goals.

NORMANTON KNIGHTS picked up their second win after a 15-10 victory at ECCLES.

Ryan Kelsey touched down in the second half to add to first period Knights efforts from Reece Hampshire and Jonathon Hodgson, whilst half-back Adrian Mulcahy booted a conversion and field-goal.

Eccles – who battled back to level matters at 10-10 with 13 minutes left – saw Jayden Lund cross in the first half and Michael Carney – who also kicked a goal – in the second.

INCE ROSE BRIDGE hit back from trailing at the break to beat MILFORD MARLINS 12-10.

Nathan Currie and Joe Ramsden tries – plus a Ryan Oxtoby goal – saw the Marlins lead 10-4 at the interval, but the home side were not to be denied as Daniel Cassidy improved efforts from Ben Jones and Gareth Jones.

SADDLEWORTH RANGERS slipped to a first defeat of the season going down 26-0 at MYTON WARRIORS.

Ash James had a productive afternoon with a try and five goals, whilst the other Warriors to touch down were Kris Walker and Lee James (2).

YORK ACORN and ROCHDALE MAYFIELD shared 10 tries as they played out an entertaining 28-28 draw.

Full-back Jack Sampton raced over for a hat-trick, with Matt Calland and Robert Kershaw picking up the other Mayfield tries and Aiden Gleeson landing four goals.

Acorn – who led 16-12 at the break – replied with four Antony Chilton goals and tries to Gareth Singleton, Davey Burns, Michael Embleton, Joseph Porter and Joe Budd.

DIVISION TWO

PILKINGTON RECS ended STANLEY RANGERS winning start to the season as they triumphed 22-8.

Daniel Lynch – a try and three goals – played a crucial role in Pilks win, whilst Andrew Knapper, Joshua Lynch and Daniel Filson added the other touchdowns.

In response Stanley were limited to a try in each half from Daniel Grice.

ASKAM were too good for LEIGH EAST and eventually ran out 25-6 winners.

Leigh could only manage a Joshua Gilluley try and Chris Penn conversion, whereas the hosts crossed for four tries and Kristian Tyson landed four goals.

Mark Tyson (2), Barry Pugh and Ben Lewney were the men to cross the whitewash and centre Michael Wilson landed a late field-goal.

BRADFORD DUDLEY HILL recorded a comfortable 36-10 home win over WATERHEAD.

A brace from Chris Hough and conversion from Jamie Mayall were all the visitors had to show from them trip over the Pennines, whist home scrum-half Simon Sewell crossed for a try and landed four goals.

Aiden Batey, Gavin Mezals, Alex Dickinson, Kyle Carter, Anthony Huby and Kyle Bateman all got in on the scoring act at Hill made it three wins from their opening four games.

KELLS battled past visiting ELLAND 12-10.

Stand-off Ross Gainford improved touchdowns from Tyrone Dalton and Daniel Joyce as the home side hit back from trailing 6-0 at the break.

Jack Fairbank crossed for the visitors first half score which Cayci Pearson improved. A 76th minute Steven Brocklehurst effort kept the game in the balance right up until the final whistle.

OLDHAM ST ANNES produced an accomplished display to see off STANNINGLEY 38-0.

Chris Carter, David Harris and Alan Williamson – plus the first of Kiel Lancashire’s five goals – meant the hosts led 16-0 at the mid-way point, before the win was completed by four second half tries.

Joshua Denbigh, Greg Worrall, a second from Harris and Eric Johnson were the men to cross the line.

Luke O’Mara and Chris Geoghegan both claimed a brace as OVENDEN got the better of CASTLEFORD PANTHERS 36-6.

Matthew Dawson, Sean Dyson and Nathan Smith also crossed and four Niall Brady goals completed the Halifax side’s points scoring.

The only bright spot for the Panthers was a Craig Savage try and James Clarkson goal.

DIVISION THREE

FEATHERSTONE LIONS were pushed all the way by COVENTRY BEARS before edging home 18-14.

Richard Williams (2) and Davi Garahan posted the Lions touchdowns and crucially all three were improved by Richard Frankland.

The Bears were limited to a Stephen Coleman penalty in the first half, however, they hit back in the second period with tries to Christian Jacob and Matt Cooper, both of which Coleman improved.

UNDERBANK RANGERS maintained their winning start to the season with a 30-14 victory at EASTMOOR DRAGONS.

Winger Corey Noel helped himself to a brace whilst other Rangers try scorers arrived in the form off Michael Lang, Courtney Allette, Daniel Pawson and David Valentine. Stand-off Neil Barrett landed three goals.

The Dragons were level at 8-8 at the break, but couldn’t keep pace with the visitors in the second half.

Michael Jedynak (2) and Adam Gant crossed for the home sides tries as James Slater landed a conversion.

HINDLEY were too good for HEWORTH as they ran out easy winners 34-4.

Wingers Daniel Gaskell and Darren Picton both scored twice, whilst the other home try scorers were Paul Hersnip, Chris Scarborough and Kieran Whittle. The extras came from Whittle (2) and James Lucas.

Heworth’s only points arrived via a 67th minute Daniel Hunter try.

BLACKBROOK passed the half-century mark as they eased to a 56-6 win at PETERLEE PUMAS.

Paul Flynn converted a Richard Foster effort to give the home side their only points, but the game was almost over for them as they trailed 24-6 at the break.

Centre Stephen Parkinson racked up 26 points for the visitors – four tries and five goals – whilst forward Ian Honey and Scott Davidson both claimed two apiece.

Jack Parker, Greg Hale and Daniel Fairhurst also got on the try scorers list and the final goal came from Chris Springford.
