PREMIER DIVISION

Nathan Kitson inspired HUNSLET WARRIORS to just their second win of the season as they accounted for EGREMONT RANGERS 40-24.

The stand-off crossed for a second half try and landed six goals as the Warriors hit back from trailing 22-12 at the break.

Full-back Gary McClleland crossed twice whilst forwards Lloyd Templeton, Craig Morley, David Norton and Caldon Bravo also touched down.

Egremont registered four tries themselves through Daniel Telford, Ryan Barnes, Matthew Henson – who also landed four goals – and Antony Leak.

LEIGH MINERS RANGERS recorded a huge 62-0 win in their mid-week clash with WIGAN ST JUDES.

A stunning performance from full-back Johnny Youds saw him cross for four tries and kick six goals – for a 28-point haul – whilst there were braces for Adam Thomason, Scott O’Brien and Jake Waterworth.

Shaun Dowie and Jack Probert also added their names to the score sheet whilst a goal from hooker Matthew Meadon completed the rout.

DIVISION ONE

A superb first half display saw INCE ROSE BRIDGE triumph 46-24 over SADDLEWORTH RANGERS.

The home side roared into a 34-4 lead by the break and held on to record just their third win of season.

Scrum-half Connor Matthew kicked seven goals and centre Jason Hughes touched down twice as Ince ended a five-game losing run I fine style.

Jamie Malone, Thomas Whittle, Ryan Eccleston, Scott Porteous, Jonathan Turner and Adam Dwyer also touched down.

Ethan Langhorne crossed in each half for Saddleworth, whilst winger Jed Mawdsley also touched down twice. Chris Conway added a fifth try whilst the extras came from Gavin Dodd and Josh Bradbury.

Ince Rose Bridge 46 v 24 Saddleworth Rangers

 

DIVISION THREE

A strong second half from WOOLSTON ROVERS helped them to a 32-18 victory over HINDLEY.

Full-back Stephen Arnold played a key role with a two-try performance, as did stand-off Gavin Bishop who landed four conversions.

John Welch, Andrew Addison, Daniel Griffiths and Lewis Stockton also helped themselves to four-pointers to help pick up a win that moved them above their Wigan-based opponents.

The visitors were limited to a try and three goals from scrum-half Steve Sutcliffe and a brace from loose-forward James Lucas.

Woolston Rovers 32 v 18 Hindley

 

CONFERENCE CHALLENGE TROPHY: Preliminary Round

UNDERBANK RANGERS caused an upset with a 20-12 win over Division One MILFORD MARLINS.

The Division Three promotion chasers built an 8-0 lead by half-time thanks to tries from Samuel Rochford and Nick Briggs, and despite Milford hitting back with Martin Loveridge converting two Ryan Oxtoby tries they finished the stronger.

Daniel Pawson and Michael Lang both went over in the final 30 minutes and goals from Thomas Eidson and Richard Knight made the game safe.

KELLS were far too strong for SHAW CROSS SHARKS as they ran out 64-4 winners.

The Division Two pacesetters ran in 11 tries to power past a Sharks side that ply their trade a division higher.

Scrum-half Ross Gainford landed 10 conversions for the Cumbrian hosts as Reece O’Neil and Tony Burns both touched down twice.

Scott Lofthouse, Tyrone Dalton, David Lowery, Troy Armstrong, Dominic Wear, Connor Holliday and Ross Ainley all added their names to the scorers list, whilst the Sharks only response was a 26th minute effort from James Davies.
