My Set of Six: with Hull KR fan Josh Brown featuring Ben Crooks & Australia tour

Drew Darbyshire

In our new feature, we’re asking you, the fans, plus players, coaches and other rugby league personalities to give us their answers to our set of six questions.

Hull KR fan Josh Brown is our latest guest on My Set of Six…

Favourite away ground?

The Mend-A-Hose Jungle, Castleford. Its always a great atmosphere for home and away fans. I prefer the old grounds rather than the new ones because they have a good character to them.

Favourite player?

Ben Crooks. He always plays with his heart on his sleeve and gives 110% even though he’s a former black and white.

Favourite memory?

The Challenge Cup semi-final at Headingley when we beat Warrington in 2015. Rovers adopted the Leeds south stand that day and it was bouncing.

Worst memory?

Seeing Rovers get relegated from Super League in 2016. We were within two minutes of getting a result but as a whole, it helped improve our club and we came back stronger from it. I and many others enjoyed our season in the Championship.

Best match you’ve seen (not involving your club)?

I toured Australia for three weeks in June 2018 and I was lucky enough to watch St George Illawarra Dragons against Canterbury Bulldogs. It was a fast flowing game, a class experience and we also met James Graham and Gareth Widdop out there.

Your wish for the future of rugby league?

For the game to grow rapidly and have more national teams competing on a larger stage – and that the World Cup is more competitive like football.
