Mullally sweating over knee injury

Whitehaven’s on-loan prop forward Anthony Mullally could be out for the season with a knee injury.

Mullally, 21, is currently on loan from Super League side Widnes, although he is set to move on at the end of the year after rejecting a new contract at the Stobart Stadium.

He will be on the sidelines when Whitehaven take on Barrow Raiders in front of the Premier Sports TV cameras at Craven Park on Thursday.

Head Coach Don Gailer said: “Anthony’s brought some really good enthusiasm to our forwards, and we’ll need that this week.

“Barrow get a good platform from their pack, and follow it up with a strong attacking game out wide. Their halves are really sharp, and we’ll need to be on our game across the park, not just in our forwards.”

One man who will feature for Whitehaven is Tom Hemingway, who this week joined the club on loan from Featherstone.
