Mose Masoe causes a stir ahead of Hull derby

Hull Kingston Rovers star Mose Masoe thinks Good Friday’s derby will reach new heights due to the game being at home rather than at Hull FC.

Rovers take on arch enemies Hull FC at KCOM Craven Park in the traditional Easter clash on Good Friday, 12:50pm kick-off.

Masoe, who has played in a St Helens-Wigan derby earlier in his career, is excited to feature in his first competitive Hull derby.

He told Hull KR’s matchday programme: “No disrespect to the KCOM Stadium, but I think this is a better stadium for the derby.

“The fans will be right on top of us and that’s great from our point of view to have the East Stand right there being so loud.

“Towards the back end of last season when we got promoted, I thought the noise around the stadium was unbelievable but I’m told that will be nothing compared with the derby. It’s going to be good.

“For me as a player, I love these matches and I live for these derby games – the sort of games that really mean a lot to a lot of people. Let the people lift you, let the crowd get you up for the big runs and the big tackles.”
