Morris lauds Dragons’ attacking prowess

He is yet to score a try this year’s NRL competition, but St George winger Brett Morris has plenty of faith in his team-mates to get over the whitewash.

Morris, 24, scored a double in the Dragons’ World Club Challenge victory over Wigan in February, but has yet to open his account during the regular season.

Despite his sluggish start in the try scoring stakes, the Australian international is glad of the presence of seasoned try-poachers Jason Nightingale and Mark Gasnier.

“It’s not the best start for me so far regarding scoring,” said Morris.

“I’ve scored a couple overseas but haven’t been able to get one since.

“Despite this it’s great seeing Jason get some tries and I’ve tipped him to be the leading try scorer this year.

Mark Gasnier and Nighty both worked on a great combination during the backend of last season and it’s really helped this year.

“It’s one of those things that’s happened and we’ve scored a lot of tries down the right because of it.”

Morris has been named in the Dragons team that will take on Canterbury on Sunday.
