Warrington Wolves can confirm that Adrian Morley has a displaced fracture of the left cheekbone after leaving the field in the 16 minute after clashing heads with team mate Paul Johnson in the engage Super League Round 6 match against Hull KR.

This was Adrian’s home debut and comeback match after he fractured his eye socket in Round 1 against Wigan Warriors, 9th February at the JJB Stadium.

Adrian will require surgery and is expected to be out a minimum of 6 weeks, he will use the hyperbaric chamber at Swinton, as part of his recovery.

Head Coach Paul Cullen commented, “Adrian has a new separate injury; chances of that happening are unbelievable. It is not the same fracture and it is not the same position. He will have the operation later this week to repair the new fracture site.

“His recovery will take a minimum of six weeks and we hope to have him back for the Millennium Magic weekend or if not that Round the following week. For those that have questioned whether he came back to early, he didn’t he was given full clearance by the medical staff including the specialist.

“It was freakish and very unfortunate. If it was not for bad luck, Adrian would not have any at this moment in time.”
