Morley confirms Salford approach

Warrington prop Adrian Morley has confirmed that Salford made an approach to sign him.

Morley, 35, is currently sidelined with a bicep injury, but was subject of an offer from new owner Dr Marwan Koukash about joining his hometown club.

He told the BBC: “They were actually keen when he (Koukash) took over, he rang the club (Warrington) and said ‘we want Morley’.

“They said I was under contract and that is as far as the conversation went.”

Morley has never played for his hometown club, having come through the ranks at Leeds, before forging a reputation as one of the best forwards in the world in a six-year spell in the NRL with Sydney Roosters.

He is now in his seventh year at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
