Morgan: We’re not desperate for Mason

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan says the club will not pay over the odds to bring Willie Mason to Craven Park.

Morgan believes that Mason would be a good signing for the Robins, but that the club are not so desperate they will pay any amount.

Mason is also being chased by Huddersfield Giants, as well as a number of NRL sides.

This could mean that a bidding war develops among those sides keen to have the services of the former Australian international.

“We don’t get into that situation. We do due diligence on a player’s value,” Morgan told BBC Radio Humberside.

“Would he add to our team? Yes, he would. Is it necessary that he arrives? The answer is no.”

“It’s not the be-all and end-all, and it’s not like we’re desperate for back-rowers or front-rowers because we’ve already got some good quality players.”
