Scott Moore is set to make his second Huddersfield Giants debut in the Challenge Cup against Swinton this weekend.

Moore, 24, signed a deal at the Galpharm Stadium until the end of the season, after he was sacked by former club Widnes, who he had only joined from St Helens in the close season.

The stand out year in the hooker’s career to date was his 2009 loan spell at the Giants, who he helped reach the Challenge Cup final, and was also named in the Super League Dream Team.

Coach Nathan Brown told the club’s official website: “Scott will come in and play this weekend he has been back for two weeks now training hard and doing plenty of work. It will be a good game for him to integrate back in with the boys.

“There have been some changes since Scott was last here, we have a lot of different personnel and we have the ability to play a different style and we do play a different style, defending a little differently. Saying that there are some similarities too, it will be interesting to see how he goes but I am sure he will do a good solid job.”

Moore scored nine tries in 29 appearances for the Giants in his previous spell at the club, before returning to St Helens.

His three-year deal at Widnes was cut short earlier this month, after he made just seven appearances for the Vikings in a short spell which saw him suffer a broken jaw and suspended for a breach of club discipline.
