Moore out of Saints clash

Huddersfield hooker Scott Moore will not play against parent club St Helens on Saturday due to an internal suspension.

Moore, who was today named in the Super League Dream Team, was dropped from yesterday’s win against Wigan, along with team mate Keith Mason.

Reports suggest that the pair missed a training session last week, and Moore revealed they have apologised to their team mates and the club’s board of directors.

He said: “I don’t know if it’s official but I have been banned. I’ve got another game yet. There’s talk of a fine too. I’m not too sure. I’ve got a meeting with the board. I’m gutted at myself more than anything.

“I’m stupid for what I did. I can’t do anything about it now. I’ve just got to train hard and hope the boys can do a job at the weekend.

“I’ve no complaints. It’s all on me really. They’ve got to do something about it. They can’t let things slide. It’s mine and Mase’s fault.

“It’s put to bed now. Hopefully I can get back in the team the week after and kick on and get to the Grand Final. Hopefully I can pay them back, I feel I owe them something.

“We made a public apology to all the boys and I personally apologised to the board and Browny (head coach Nathan Brown) as well. They’ve all accepted it and there’s no hard feelings.

“We regretted it and so it felt like it was the decent thing to do. We let ourselves down. It was just one of those things.”

Moore is due to return to St Helens at the end of the season. The Giants travel to Knowsley Road in the second qualifying semi final on Saturday knowing a win would put them within 80 minutes of their first Super League Grand Final.
