Warrington have confirmed captain Joel Monaghan, Roy Asotasi and Gareth O’Brien will leave the club at the end of the season.

Monaghan, 33, has scored 141 tries in 143 appearances for the Wolves, and he and O’Brien have been released from the final year of their contracts as Tony Smith continues to re-build his squad.

Richie Myler (Catalans), Chris Bridge (Widnes) and Simon Grix have already had their departures from the Halliwell Jones Stadium confirmed.

Smith said: “While I have expressed our gratitude for each individual, collectively I’d like to thank each of the players for their commitment to the club and wish them well. We will always welcome them back in the future.”

O’Brien came through the club’s academy, making 62 appearances, while Asotasi has spent two seasons in Super League since arriving from South Sydney Rabbitohs.
