New Leigh signing Fuifui Moimoi hooked up with his new team-mates at the club’s warm weather training camp in Lanzarote.

Moimoi, 35, arrived in the UK from Tonga following a marathon 40-hour journey, before departing to Club La Santa, where coach Paul Rowley and his squad have been based for a five-day training camp.

Rowley told the club’s official website: “Fuifui’s one of us now. He has settled in very quickly with no dramas and even though he is high profile name he’s just part of the team.

“We have welcomed him and he has embraced us and what we’re about. He’s a good fellow.

“It was a very successful training camp. We managed to achieve all our objectives and although they were long days they were enjoyable ones, too. We had neglected ball-work during the early phase of pre-season training but in Lanzarote we were able to get in something like five sessions in a day.”

Moimoi, who has spent 11 years in the NRL with Parramatta, is the Centurions marquee signing for 2015 and rugby league’s new era, which gives them a shot at reaching Super League.

The former New Zealand and Tonga international is set to make his debut in Leigh colours in the pre-season friendly against Wigan on Sunday.

The Centurions begin their Championship campaign with a mouth-watering opener against Bradford at Leigh Sports Village on February 15.
