Moa receives two-match ban

Catalans Dragons prop Sam Moa has received a two-match for a reckless strike in the opening round of Super League.

The suspension comes on the back of a review of the first week in the Betfred Super League and the match review panel have handed Moa a two-match penalty notice for a Grade B reckless strike on Widnes Vikings half-back Joe Mellor on Sunday.

Under the new disciplinary rules, the Tonga star has a record of two or more offences in the last 24months, including at least one in the last 12 months, meaning that he has received a penalty at the higher end of the spectrum.
