Hull KR forward Mitch Garbutt has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an elbow injury.

The 31-year-old prop will join Championship side Toulouse on a two-year deal from 2021, and is expected to have played his final game in a Robins jersey.

Hull KR coach Tony Smith said: “He’s had some damage in his elbow for quite some time.

“It’s just progressively got worse and it’s started to agitate him to a point where it’s restricting him to some degree.

“He’s had it for a while now. We got him in to see a consultant last week and they gave him the news that he probably already knew.

“It’s going to need some work, I think it’s about a three to four month that he needs for it to repair. Mitch is used to playing in pain, he’s done it for a fair portion of his career, so he’s not one to shy away from it, but some things get a little too much.”
