Castleford’s Grant Millington has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

Millington, 26, joined the Tigers ahead of the 2012 season from NRL side Canterbury Bulldogs and was due to be out of contract at the end of this season.

The forward has now put pen to paper on an extension to his stay, and he had this to say:

“I’m delighted to have extended my contract at Castleford Tigers.

“Since Daryl Powell arrived at the Club he has given me back my confidence and has encouraged me to develop my game since my injury. I’ve started to enjoy my rugby again which is important.

“I’ve been very impressed by Daryl – everyone knows their roles and responsibilities and there is accountability. There’s competition for places and I know that if I don’t perform then I’ll drop out.

“I know that I can’t rest now though. Both individually and as a team we have to keep working hard and build for next season in order for it to be successful and I’ll certainly be playing my part in doing that.”

The versatile Australian has made 37 Super League appearances for Castleford, scoring six tries in the process.
