Hull KR have confirmed that Mikey Lewis has returned to the club following his loan spell with York, while Will Dagger has joined Featherstone on a two-week loan deal.

Lewis, 19, completes his one-month loan spell with the Championship side featuring in four games, including the 1895 Cup semi-final win over Swinton.

Head coach Tony Smith said: “We want to get our players out playing because there is a real need for that. Mikey has been closely monitored. I’ve watched his games and I think he definitely had his strongest game in his last one, which was in a more familiar position. If anything, I think he proved he’s a half-back and not a full-back through that month. It was a worthwhile experiment in that respect.

“He needed that. He’s one of those young guys that needs to play. We have a number of them, and I feel for them. It improves their spirit, awareness, fitness, and desire. I’m hurting for a few other boys that haven’t been able to get out there on loan and develop.

“Mikey has had the chance to go out there and experiment, develop, compete and have fun. It’s all part of it and they are missing out on it.”

Dagger, 22, is yet to make his first appearance of the season for the Robins and joins Featherstone on a short-term loan with immediate affect.
