Mike Grady leaves Scorpions

South Wales Scorpions have confirmed that coach Mike Grady has left the club after two seasons in charge of the team.

Grady was well-respected during his time in South Wales, and earned a League 1 Coach of the Year nomination in 2014.

The coach has built a team from scratch, using local Welsh players, many of whom are converts from rugby union, and has set strong foundations for the club’s new owners.

“Everyone at the club would like to thank Mike for his efforts and wish him all the very best in his future career,” a Scorpions statement read.

A further announcement about the coaching situation at the club will be made in the next few days, once the transfer of the club to new ownership is completed.
