Michael Sykes has signed a new one-year deal with London Skolars.

The 32-year-old will remain at the New River Stadium throughout the 2019 League 1 campaign.

Sykes made 20 appearances for the Skolars last season and has previously represented Great Britain Students.

On committing to the Skolars, Sykes said: “I am very pleased to have signed another year at the club.

“I’ve been here for a long time and love the club and the boys, so the decision to stay on was an easy one. This year is an exciting one for the club, so I’m very happy to be part of it again.”

Skolars’ coach Jermaine Coleman commented: “Michael is an experienced player at this level now and over the last few years has really developed his physical capabilities and as a result is able to affect the games more.

“He is again looking to have a big off-season and strong season with new competition in the group that will bring the standard up.”
