Meninga to rotate Aussie squad

Australia coach Mal Meninga says he will rotate his squad and name a second-string side to face Scotland in the Four Nations opener.

The likes of Jake Friend, James Maloney and Jake Trbojevic are expected to make their Test debuts against the Bravehearts in Hull next Friday.

There will also be places in the 17-man Kangaroos squad for Josh Mansour, Michael Morgan, Matt Moylan, Justin O’Neill and Aaron Woods, with those players who did not feature against New Zealand in Perth to get the chance to play.

“We played what I thought was our Test team against New Zealand so all the other players will get an opportunity against Scotland,” Meninga told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“We’re putting a lot of internal pressure on players. In previous years, a couple of our players – Matty Moylan’s an example – didn’t get a chance to play in a Four Nations.

“He’ll get his chance against Scotland.”
