St Helens winger Francis Meli is still planning to leave Super League at the end of the year.

Meli, 33, has made a solid start to the new season, scoring six tries in seven appearances, but his contract is up at the end of 2013.

His final bow on British soil could come at the end of season World Cup for Samoa, who he represented in the last tournament in 2008.

He told the St Helens Star: “I have always said I am going home at the end of the year and at the moment that is where I am at but things might change.

“I won’t know until it comes later in the year.

“I have enjoyed my time here and grateful that I have been at one club for eight seasons. I can’t complain.”

Meli, who recently made his 200th appearance for Saints, has scored more than 130 tries for the club.

He has also played for the Exiles in the International Origin tests against England in the past two seasons.
