Leigh fullback Greg McNally is targeting a return to the field in six weeks from his knee injury.

McNally has been sidelined since January when his suffered ligament damage in a pre-season friendly against Warrington.

McNally told Love Rugby League he is targeting a late July/early August playing return.

The 25-year old has been a key figure for Leigh since joining the club in 2012. He has scored 53 tries in 92 appearances for the Centurions.

Leigh are at the top of the Championship but McNally is expected some difficult encounters in the Middle 8s, with the likes of Leeds and Huddersfield to feature..

“It’s looking good but it all depends on how you perform in seven games. We found that out last year,” he told Love Rugby League.

“There’s going to be some very tough games.

“All four of them are going to be hard to beat as they are playing at a higher intensity week-in-week-out compared to us but we’ll just concentrate on ourselves and make sure we give it our best shot.”
