McIlorum appeals against ban

Wigan hooker Michael McIlorum has appealed against his three-match ban following his red card on Friday.

McIlorum, 24, was sent off by referee James Child for a reckless high tackle during the 26-18 defeat to St Helens at the DW Stadium.

He will appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee again this evening.

At present, his only chance of appearing in the Super League play-offs is if Wigan lose to Catalan on Friday, but still go on to reach the Grand Final.

The Ireland international has featured in all but one of Wigan’s matches this season.
