McGuire and Mogg out of French squad

France will go into the Gillette Four Nations without Australians Casey McGuire and Adam Mogg after both players pulled out of the French squad.

The two Catalans Dragons players qualified for selection on residency grounds.

Mogg declined to play for personal reasons, while McGuire has expressed his desire to rest during the off-season.

Coach Bobbie Goulding also named Clint Greenshields in his squad for the tournament, leaving the Catalans full back as the only Australian to play for France this year.

Former Catalans and Harlequins player Julien Rinaldi has also declined to play, preferring to concentrate on his role as player coach at Villenueve.

France begin their Four Nations campaign against England at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium on Friday night.
