McGillvary relishing clash with Castleford’s Carney

Huddersfield winger Jermaine McGillvary is looking forward to clashing with his Castleford opposite number Justin Carney, when their teams clash on Thursday night.

Carney is in good form this season, and McGillvary knows that the powerful Australian will be a handful at the John Smith’s Stadium.

“On a personal note, I am really looking forward to it,” he told his club’s official website.

“Carney is not going to be a small task, he is a wrecking ball. He looks more like a wrestler than a rugby league player!

“He is a very explosive man and a very good player. He is a big strong player and has a big hand off so I have got to get in his face early and try and knock down his fend.

“It is easier said than done, though, but I have played against him before and have done quite well against him and I will be looking to do the same again.”

The Huddersfield winger also knows that Cas carry more threats than just Carney.

“Castleford are a very well drilled team and Daryl Powell has got them playing really well,” he added.

“We are under no illusions it is going to be a tough game and we are going to have to be on top form come Thursday night.”
