Huddersfield winger Jermaine McGillvary knows that he is in for tough test when Wigan visit the John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday.
“Josh Charnley is quality, he’s an England international. Joe Burgess is a quality player, quick as hell and he’s a strong lad who’s got a great future ahead of him,” McGillvary told his club’s official website.
“Everybody is going to have to get a marker on their man and try and get a win. It’s going to be tough because Wigan are a quality side.
“We can’t just look at their wingers and hope our wingers get one over them, it has to be a collective to get one over on their opposite man.”
Statistically, Huddersfield have the best defence in Super League. Statistics don’t mean much to McGillvary, though.
“You can say our defence is the best but if it’s not the best on the day then it doesn’t really matter,” he added.
“Statistics and that go out of the window in these games.
“Nobody is playing fantastic. Leeds were at one stage but right now, everybody is there for the taking – it’s who wants it the most really.”
