McGillvary: It was a bit embarassing

Jermaine McGillvary has described England‘s stuttering performance against Scotland as “a bit embarassing”.

England defeated Scotland 38-12, but fell behind 8-0 early after a poor start.

McGillvary picked a try in the 26-point win.

But the winger said England weren’t great and a have a week to fix things ahead of their must-win game against Australia.

“That was probably a bit embarrassing there in the end, even though we won,” McGillvary told NRL.com.

“That is not where we want to be and where we need to be. Today wasn’t great, and we know that.

“[We need to be] a lot better, we need to be on the same level that we played last week, probably even better, just to compete with Australia.

“We have got a week to fix it.”
