McGillvary: Giants heading in the right direction

Jermaine McGillvary believes Huddersfield’s draw at Wigan Warriors last weekend was a sign the Giants were heading in the right direction.

The Giants host Leeds on Friday looking for their first win in three games and McGillvary is eager to build on that performance against the Rhinos.

“In the end we were disappointed to walk away with one point, but I think the performance was quite good,” he told the club’s official website.

“It was an improvement on the week before – we’ve still got to be better and be a consistent outfit, but we are stepping in the right direction.

“The only disappointing thing from that game was not taking the extra point, but we are in good confidence.

“Leeds are playing well, but form goes out of the window when it comes to a derby and I’m looking forward to a tough game but we know that we’re capable of winning.

“I always look forward to playing Leeds because they have got so many good quality players and up against Ryan Hall as well, who is one of the best wingers in the world, so it is good for me personally to be tested.”
