McDonnell heads to Wests Tigers

Shannon McDonnell has returned home to Australia, with Wests Tigers confirming that the former Hull KR, Hull FC and St Helens full-back has been handed a train and trial contract with them.

This means that the 27-year-old will train full-time with the first-team squad until the end of the February, and has a chance to earn a second-tier contract with the club.

Wests have handed a similar opportunity to forward Wesly Loko.

“We were looking to bolster our depth in both of those positions and these guys have been given an opportunity to show us if they are worthy of a contract,” said Tigers head coach Jason Taylor.
