McDermott wary of Robins pack threat

Leeds coach Brian McDermott is preparing his team to face a fired-up Hull KR on Friday evening at Headingley.

Rovers won in Leeds earlier in the season, and McDermott has indicated the Robins’ middle unit and half back as particular strengths, especially in attack.

“I thought their pack had a good day against us, over there just recently,” he told Rhinos TV.

Rob Mulhern really put himself front and centre and had a crack at us. Adam Walker did as well.

Dane Tilse is a big man to handle, and when they’ve got momentum they become difficult.

“Then you’ve got someone like Albert Kelly who can get hold of a loose ball, and runs unorthodox [sic].

“He’s something that you can’t plan for really, where Albert Kelly is going to run or when he is going to run.

“But when he does, you’ve got to deal with it. That’s one of their real threats.

“They themselves have had a turbulent season, but they’ve shown signs that they can be a good attacking team.

“We can only prepare for that.”
