McDermott: I won’t quit

Leeds coach Brian McDermott says he won’t quit even if the Rhinos’ losing run continues.

Leeds have endured a terrible 2016 – with three victories from 18 matches and they have lost their past six fixtures in a row.

But McDermott has said he won’t be throwing in the towel.

“Do I question myself? Of course. You question yourself in any of these situations,” he told The Yorkshire Post.

“Do I question my role or influence on the group? No. I understand why you ask that question, I suppose you have got to ask that question.

“But, if you want to speak about personal things, there are certain things that have been out of my control. Two major factors (injuries and loss of training facilities) have been out of my control.

“You don’t ask for a perfect landscape but it needs to be a little better than what it is before you start pointing the finger and saying ‘you got the recruitement wrong, the coach isn’t doing this.

“That’s an easy one to do at this point of time.”
