McDermott excited by Saints Cup challenge

Leeds coach Brian McDermott is looking forward to playing St Helens in the Challenge Cup semi-final.

The Rhinos booked their place in the last four of the competition on Friday with a very professional win at Hull FC.

Now McDermott is relishing the chance to tangle with a team with as much quality as Saints possess.

“It’s good,” he said.

“If you want to get the final then you’re going to have to beat the big teams.

“They’re a cracking team, Saints. You raise your own bar to get to their level.

“They’re the current Super League champions, and we’re really looking forward to that one.”
