McCormack names Scotland squad

Scotland coach Steve McCormack has named a handful of new faces in his squad for the European Cup, including Barrow winger James Nixon.

Nixon, who was the leading try scorer in the Championship this season with 29, is joined in the squad by Sheffield pair Brendon Lindsay and Mitchell Stringer.

There are also call ups for Scotland student Dave Arnott and John Cox from Scottish Conference Champions Edinburgh Eagles.

Much of the squad is selected from the Championship and Championship 1 divisons, although Wakefield’s Kevin Henderson, Castleford-bound Paul Jackson and Hull KR pair Ben Fisher and Rhys Lovegrove add Super League quality to the ranks.
